What do we do?

Newport Mediation exists to promote harmony, reduce the fear of crime and improve the quality of life in the communities of South Wales. We recognise that this can only be achieved if people have a sense of personal and communal responsibility and are operating within a safe environment.

Newport Mediation seeks to create better harmony and capacity within our communities to deal with conflict constructively.

We do this by:

• Providing mediation services to individuals in dispute who are resident within Newport City council and Torfaen County Borough areas, referred to us by Newport City Home , Bron Afon Housing ,Charter Housing ,Safer Newport and Torfaen Crime Partnership .
• Promoting mediation as an alternative to more formal and/or adversarial methods of resolving disputes.
• Expending our service geographically through partnership working, through service agreements and grants.
• Providing a high quality professional, confidential and impartial community focused conflict resolution mediation service.
• Developing and providing local volunteering opportunities including accredited training in mediation skills, conflict management and alternative dispute resolution
